DETROIT — An exclusive new Cadillac is on the horizon for General Motors.
GM has released another teaser image previewing the upcoming Cadillac Celestiq battery-electric luxury sedan, according to GM Authority.
GM is currently referring to this vehicle as the Cadillac Celestiq show car – a sign the sedan will first be shown in style-forward concept guise before the production model appears at a later date.
This is the same strategy GM employed with the Cadillac Lyriq crossover, which was first shown in “show car” form in August 2020 before the automaker debuted the production-intent model roughly a year later in the summer of 2021.

The sedan will likely feature unique exterior welcome lighting similar to the Cadillac Lyriq’s illuminated grille, with the automaker saying its “signature lighting design rises to a new level,” on the Celestiq Show Car to create a “soulful choreographed symphony of light,” that “invites each passenger into the vehicle.”
Previous teasers have revealed portions of the Celestiq show car’s exterior, as well as its interior and freeform widescreen infotainment display.
“Today, Cadillac shared a glimpse of the Celestiq show car, which represents the purest expression of Cadillac design, technology and performance,” the automaker said in a prepared statement. “From first approach, the striking silhouette of the Celestiq show car leaves a lasting impression, challenging the ultra-luxury space with the spirit of futurism and the avant-garde.”
The Cadillac Celestiq will be hand-built in extremely limited numbers and will also be highly customizable with regard to exterior and interior colors and options. The sedan will also have a SmartGlass roof with programmable opacity levels and will be the first GM vehicle to feature the automaker’s next-generation Ultra Cruise semi-autonomous driver-assist system.
Ultra Cruise is an evolution of the GM Super Cruise system that will enable full self-driving capabilities in 95 percent of all driving scenarios in the U.S. and Canada.
With regard to driving performance, Cadillac Celestiq will come standard with all-wheel-drive and four-wheel-steering.
Like virtually every other future GM electric vehicle, the four-door will likely utilize GM’s new Ultium lithium-ion battery technology and Ultium Drive electric motors. It is expected to utilize the automaker’s BEV3 dedicated electric vehicle platform, as well. Pricing is expected to start at around $200,000, making the Cadillac Celestiq the most-expensive Cadillac model ever offered.
